Why Is My Air Conditioner Leaking Water?
Indoor water leaks almost always come from a blocked drain, a frozen or dirty coil, or an incorrectly levelled indoor unit.
Blocked condensate drain
Humidity produces a lot of condensate in Zanzibar. Dust and biological growth block the drain line, and water backs up into the room. Clearing and testing the drain resolves it.
Dirty or frozen evaporator coil
A fouled coil or low airflow can cause ice to form; when it melts, the drain pan overflows. Cleaning restores normal operation.
Installation faults
An indoor unit mounted out of level, or a drain line without continuous fall, will leak from the first humid week. This is an installation defect and should be corrected.
